About Labil Grotesk

The juxtaposition of the balance inherent in sans-serif letterforms and the notion of text being affected by the laws of gravity is a central theme for KOMETA’s first release, which comes in two subfamilies: Labil Grotesk, an enfant terrible of the contemporary neo-grotesque genre with its subtly, yet comically exaggerated proportions; and Stabil Grotesk—the dependable sibling with distinctly fine-tuned eccentricities.

Mixing formal cues from the archetypal Swiss grotesques with intentionally lopsided features render the text seemingly succumbing to its own weight; with letters looking like real objects—falling down or leaning against each other. Scroll down to test the basic character set right in the browser or request a free trial using the button below.
